JDIFF '15 is just around the corner and we've got a nice little preview of what's coming in February.
Sir David Hare, who wrote psychological dramas The Hours and The Reader, will be in attendance and most likely giving a screenwriting masterclass, such as Peter Morgan last year and Robert Towne the year previous.
Meanwhile, Alan Rickman returns to the director's chair with A Little Chaos. Kate Winslet, Stanley Tucci and Alan Rickman himself star in the period drama concerning the creation of the Palace of Versailles. Its screening at JDIFF '15 will be the Irish premiere of the film.
The world premiere of The Price of Desire, starring Alanis Morissette, Vincent Perez and Orla Brad, will also take place at JDIFF '15. Another period drama, this time taking in Eileen Gray's contribution to 20th century architecture and her tumultuous professional and personal life.
Festival director Grainne Humphreys spoke at the announcement. "One of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year, The Price of Desire is Mary McGuckian's portrait of the iconic Irish designer Eileen Gray. Orla Brady is mesmerising as the mercurial genius in this beautiful film, with a great score by Brian Byrne and a smart cast including Vincent Perez and Alanis Morissette."
"Alan Rickman's second feature A Little Chaos this hugely entertaining gardening drama features Kate Winslet and our Festival friend Stanley Tucci."
More announcements are expected in January.
