We've a feeling there may be a mob at the Irish Premiere Screening of Argo this Friday. Teaming up with Warner Bros, Jameson Dublin International Film Festival are presenting the screening of Ben Affleck's latest effort, and have pulled it out of the bag by getting Argo and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston to introduce it. Yes folks, Heisenberg is in town.
Released on November 7th and based on real events, the dramatic thriller chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis, focusing on the little-known role that the CIA and Hollywood played — information that was not declassified until many years after the event. So while you could easily go and spoil it for yourself with a simple bit of Googling, by all accounts the less you know about the film the better according to those who've been privileged enough to have seen it (i.e. Movie Editor Caroline, who we're very jealous of). Cranston plays CIA chief Jack O'Donnell, big boss to Affleck's 'extraction specialist' Tony Mendez.
Having revealed the dates of the 11th Jameson Dublin International Film Festival as 14th to the 24th of February 2013, stay tuned for more info on the festival as it comes in. Last year saw Al Pacino in town, and if Bryan Cranston is here this early, it can only lead to good things.
