The very iconic, quintessential leading man, Harrison Ford has become attached to play legendary character, Wyatt Earp in a film adaptation of the novel Black Hats which was written by Road to Perdition creator Max Allan Collins reports Variety.

In the intriguing sounding concept, the film would be set in the 1920s, and feature Ford as Earp facing off against a young Al Capone, after being hired by Doc Holliday's widow to go to New York, where their son is being hassled by the infamous gangster. The young Capone is yet to be cast, and a director is also yet to be named; but the script has been adapted by 300 writer Kurt Johnstad and production should move forward fairly swiftly. I'll be interviewing Ford next week and will be sure to get an update.

Loved Road to Perdition, and if Black Hats gets a good director involved then this really could be something special. Mark Romanek anyone?
