If you've ever watched or read an interview with Harrison Ford, you'll know that it's basically a masterclass in deflection, obfuscation and general "I'm not here for your sh*t" answers.

It's all great stuff, and just adds to Ford's brilliant lack of respect for anything remotely related to celebrity or fame. However, in his feature interview with GQ, Ford opened up - briefly, ever so briefly - on that time he smacked Ryan Gosling in the jaw during the production of Blade Runner 2049.

As Gosling tells it, Ford didn't correctly pull his punch and responded by pouring him a drink in his trailer afterwards and then leaving. Ford's side of the story corroborates this, with a few minor embellishments. "Ryan Gosling's face was where it should not have been," explained Ford.

"His job was to be out of the range of the punch. My job was also to make sure that I pulled the punch. But we were moving, and the camera was moving, so I had to be aware of the angle to the camera to make the punch look good. You know, I threw about a hundred punches in the shooting of it, and I only hit him once."

When asked by GQ if it was Gosling's fault, Ford was able to ballpark it and called it "90 percent his fault.” Afterwards, Gosling and Ford bonded - if you can call it that - over a glass of scotch, after which Ford then left with the bottle. "Yeah? What—did he fucking expect the whole bottle? You know, I figured one drink would fix it. That was enough."

Never ever change, Harrison Ford. Never change. You can read the full interview over on GQ.
