So it turns out there was a secret love affair going on in the X-Men movie universe that no one really knew about.
Halle Berry, who plays Storm in the X-Men trilogy of the 2000s and also in X-Men: Days of Future Past, revealed the news in an interview with PEOPLE and EW editorial director Jess Cagle.
“Storm and Logan used to be lovers,” she said. “It’s true. Storm and Logan had a thing.”
Berry described the Storm-Wolverine relationship as “wonderful… for a time.”
“When he really decided that Jean Grey was his [love] … that caused a problem,” she said. “The having two girls at once thing … that doesn’t work for Storm.” The breakup left the character “heartbroken.”
It was a backstory that Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry came up with for the characters’ relationship and there's evidence of the romance in a deleted scene from Days of Future Past, which you can see below:
