First off, we didn't even know that a live-action Beauty & The Beast film was in the works.

Disney is turning a lot of its properties into live-action films, with Cinderella being the first to get the remake treatment.

Now it seems that Belle and the rest of the gang are due a going over, with none other than Emma Watson playing the titular role.

Of Beauty, not the Beast.

Emma Watson took to Facebook to announce the news, saying that the role was a big part of her growing up.

Her statement reads, "I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it."

There's been no word on any other casting, however Twilight: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon will be helming the film for Disney.
