Although we're still a couple of weeks out from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, it seems like the film is already going to be a huge success for all involved.
Considering many speculated that the first one was going to be a flop, Vol.2 is coming to screens with both the weight of expectation and the knowledge that it has to surpass the first one, or at least be equal to it. However, by the sounds of it, this shouldn't be a problem.
According to a report by THR, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 was screened to a test audience and was given a perfect score - 100% - and toppled Iron Man 3 and Avengers' record. Test screenings, of course, aren't always a reliable marker for success and it's the same with early preview screenings, too.
More often than not, it's uber-fans who may not necessarily be objective about things - so the next best indicator is box-office tracking which, you guessed it, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 has in spades.
Disney is predicting the film will open in the US with at least $150 million on its opening weekend and will easily break the first film's box office figures worldwide. We'll hopefully have a review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 pretty soon, but in the meantime, here's the trailer.
