Well apart from all the wins and snubs, there's only one question left to ask about last night's Golden Globes (if you exclude Jodie Foster's coming out speech too, of course); did Tina Fey and Amy Poehler deliver the goods? Did we miss the acidic tongue of three time Globes host Ricky Gervais? The answers are yes and no, respectively. Word on the web concurs with our verdict that Fey and Poehler were a hit.

While presenting as a duo went down like a lead balloon for Anne Hathaway and James Franco when they mortified themselves on the Oscars stage the year before last, for Tina and Amy at the Globes, it worked. Their combined rhythm and comic timing was pretty damn impressive, what with Tina setting up many of the gags for Amy to follow through with a witty remark. Never did we cringe or think 'ooh, that was a bit far' as this pair are so likeable, they get away with it. Not even when she compared Kathryn Bigelow's three year marriage to James Cameron as torture akin to what we see in Zero Dark Thirty. Ricky, on the other hand, isn't quite as affable, which is probably why audiences are less likely to take an outright insult from him. We also chuckled when, after complimenting Anne Hathaway's turn in Les Mis, they pointed out how awful her Franco Oscar performance was. ''I have not seen someone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were onstage with James Franco at the Oscars.'' What's more, their Quentin Tarantino slagging was rather ROFL worthy, describing the Django Unchained director as ''the star of all my sexual nightmares.''

Particularly enjoyable were their filmic puns - comparing the six weeks it took to get into Tina's dress as The Hunger Games and the six weeks Amy will spend once she's out of her dress as Life Of Pi. On that note, they did look extremely well. Tina Fey's opening speech dress conjured up images of the hourglass shape of Jessica Rabbit while Amy Poehler's offbeat red carpet tuxedo was different, laid back and suited her. All in all, we're sure these two comediennes are sleeping soundly this morning. Well played, ladies. Well played.
