Two of the most talked about remakes are set to be go head to head when they are both released on the same date in 2014.
Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures announced that the monster franchise Godzilla is to be released on 16th May 2014 in the US putting it in direct competition with the Michael Bay produced remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
In a press release issued by Legendary Pictures Godzilla, which is to be directed by Monsters Director Gareth Edwards, also confirmed the film will 'return the character to its epic roots with a gritty , realistic actioner'.The movie has been generating alot of attention since the announcement at the Comi-Con conference during the summer that a reboot was in the making. It has received a great reception from fans and has also been praised by Dean Devlin who wrote the 1998 remake, 'I know I screwed up my Godzilla,' he said 'I'd be very happy if they pull it off and do a great one.'
The remake of 'Ninja Turtles' has been receiving mixed reviews so far with rumours that Michael Bay is to present the turtles as aliens instead of mutants. Leaked scripts have hit the internet which have been blasted for presenting a story totally different to the original. Bay later came out and said 'The script saw the shredder a long time ago. This is tired, old news - Wait for the movie.'
Release dates for Ireland have not been confirmed yet but we are very excited to see what the remakes are going to be like!
