Gina Carano is to follow up her movie debut in Haywire with the starring role in the revenge thriller, In The Blood, reports Heat Vision Blog.
John Stockwell (who was in Top Gun don't ya know) will direct the film about a hard as nails wife, who goes all Liam Neeson when her husband is kidnapped while they're on holliers. The film is set in the sunny Caribbean, which is where Stockwell seems to shoot quite a bit - he filmed Paul Walker/Jessica Alba starrer Into the Blue there. “This role will showcase not only Gina’s fighting skills, but also her acting abilities as her character struggles to reign in her violent past,” Stockwell told the blog within The Hollywood Reporter.
Really dug Carano in Hwayire. I know a lot of people hated that movie, but that was a very tough first role to pull off and I thought the action was wonderfully minimalistic. Stockwell should produce a far glossier package with 'Blood'.
