In as straight up a leading actor swap as you're likely to ever see, Gerard Butler has replaced Eric Bana in the heist flick, Brilliant, reports Variety.
It turns out that Bana probably just watched Robert Luketic's last few films - Killers in particular was absolute shite. Butler has worked with the director before on The Ugly Truth, which is one of his biggest (financial) hits. This flick centres on a "small-time criminal who partners with a female thief to pull off a daring diamond heist." Sounds wonderfully formulaic, what's not to love? And that title is asking for trouble.
Butler last starred in Machine Gun Preacher, which didn’t get the plaudits, or box-office that folk expected. He still showed what he could do in the opening of Law Abiding Citizen - even if the rest of it was cack.
