The release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is still almost two weeks away but George Lucas is one of the lucky few who has been treated to an advance screening of the movie.
He did create the universe that the movie is set in so we guess it's only fair.
The Star Wars creator had a conference call with Rogue One director, Gareth Edwards right after the screening and gave his verdict to the British filmmaker.
"I don't want to put words into his mouth, but I can honestly say that I can die happy now." Edwards told Sunday World.
Edwards went on to describe how Lucas' approval meant more to him than anyone else's.
"He really liked the movie. It meant a lot. To be honest, and no offense to anyone here, it was the most important review to me."
"You know, you guys are important too, but he's kind of God... I will take that conversation to my grave. His opinion means the world to me.”
Lucas' approval of Rogue One is interesting and was never guaranteed as he admitted earlier this year that he would have preferred if JJ Abrams had take a different approach with The Force Awakens.
"They wanted to do a retro movie. I don't like that. I like -- every movie, I worked very hard to make them completely different, with different planets, with different spaceships -- you know, to make it new.”
