Despite being the man behind the huge franchise, it seems that he's not too interested in seeing the trailer of Abrams' take on the Star Wars story.
In an interview with Page Six, Lucas admitted that he had not yet seen the trailer that took the internet by storm and had Star Wars fans impatiently counting the days until the movie is released, and it seems he doesn't really have any plans to either.
The reason he didn't watch it? Well, it seems that he's a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to all things movies, and he's not one for watching a trailer online: "I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet", he told Page Six, before stating that the reason was because he was not able to watch it in the cinema. "I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when it’s released".
Lucas also stated that he was "not really" curious to see what's in store from Abrams, who his son Jett claimed had been handpicked by his father to make the three new movies.
According to The Verge, Abrams has already stated that he's going about things a very different way from Lucas, and using a lot less CGI. Lucas is still listed as a creative consultant on the new movies, but judging by his comments in the interview he doesn't seem to be doing all that much consulting.
