The family of Gene Wilder have announced his passing in a statement to the Associated Press.

The iconic actor starred in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and more.
He was nominated for two Oscars during his career. In 1969 he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Producers. He was nominated again in 1975, this time alongside his frequent collaborator Mel Brooks, for Best Adapted Screenplay for Young Frankenstein.
His most recent acting credit was a guest starring role on Will and Grace in 2003. He won an Emmy for his performance.
As reported by AP, he passed away late Sunday night from complications from Alzheimer's disease.
