Just to drive home how bad the remake of Flatliners is, our review didn't even end with a flatlining, dead-on-arrival joke.
That's a new low, folks. There was a joke right there to be made and we didn't go for it. As you can expect, we weren't alone in utterly hating the remake of Flatliners - and the film is currently enjoying a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Entertainment Weekly was pretty withering, saying that "in an age of unnecessary remakes... Flatliners has the distinction of being perhaps the most unnecessary of them all." Variety wasn't much kinder, echoing many others that the remake "offers no reason for reanimating this long-expired property."
Time Out, however, had the best one-liner on it. "Somebody get a defibrillator in here, stat." Flatliners is currently in Irish cinemas, and may God have mercy on your soul if you think it's actually good.
