Jamie Foxx was snapped in his new Electro diggs on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Spidey’s new nemesis Max Dillon gains the power of... wait for it... electricity and then adopts the super-villain moniker Electro.

Foxx looks pretty snazzy in his blue prosthetic get-up, which gives us a few clues about his character. For one, comic-book fans will be familiar with the original Electro’s yellow and green ensemble (bet Foxx is pretty relieved they didn’t go down this route). In Spidey canon, the original (green/yellow) Electro gained his powers after being struck by lightning, however this blue version suggest we’re looking at Ultimate Electro, whose powers are a product of bioengineering. He’s also bald (which might explain the hoodie), he’s got a black leather outfit (we’ll see) and he can fly.

Paul Giammati is set to appear as the villain Rhino in the web-slinging sequel. Shailene Woodley will be taking on the role of Mary Jane Watson. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will also be reprising their roles.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due to hit cinemas in April 2014.
