If you were a child in the 90's then you will most likely remember the R.L Stine Goosebumps book series. The series, which is amongst one of the biggest selling children's books ever, is now hitting the big screen and filming has just begun on the movie.
Sony Pictures are behind the movie which will star Jack Black, Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush (The Odd Life of Timothy Green). Also added to the line up is Super 8's Ryan Lee. According to Variety the 'story is loosely based on R.L. Stine’s book series and follows Minnette's character, who moves from New York City to the small town of Greendale, Maryland, where his secretive new neighbour turns out to be veteran young adult horror author R.L. Stine (Black). When all the many demons of Stine's mind are set free by Slappy, a demonic ventriloquist’s dummy, it's up to Minnette's character and Stine's niece Hannah to put all the evil genies back in the bottle'
Written by Darren Lemke and Mike White, the movie sees Black reunited with his Gulliver Travels director Rob Letterman. The movie has been slated for release in 2016.
