As James Marsh's Shadow Dancer hits cinemas tomorrow, it seems we've got another predominantly Irish film to look forward to in 2013. Beginning filming just this week, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, falls under the fantasy genre and boasts a stellar cast among which our Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Robert Sheehan and Aidan Turner are included. Directed by Harald Zwart, City of Bones tells the story of seemingly ordinary teenager Clary Fray (played by Englisha actress Lily Collins) who discovers some home truths about her past and bloodline when her mother is attacked in their home and abducted by a demon. With that, it becomes her job to save the world from said demonic baddies. The story is based on a young adult novel of the same name by Cassandra Clare.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Rhys Meyers plays Valentine Morgenstern - "a powerful but insane Shadowhunter looking to make the world pure at any cost" while Sheehan Sheehan plays Simon, Fray's best pal. Turner who we'll get to see soon in The Hobbit plays the role of werewolf Luke Garroway.
Certainly one to keep an eye out for. Even if it's just for the gossip on set.
