It has taken forever but finally developments are underway for the Avatar sequels.
James Cameron’s 2009 sci fi epic made over $2 billion in the box office, making it one of the highest grossing films of all time.
As of April of this year, Cameron confirmed that he plans to make four sequels to the film and the first new cast member has been announced.
According to Deadline, Fear the Walking Dead's Cliff Curtis (who has also had roles in films such as The Piano and Training Day) is boarding all four of the upcoming Avatar sequels in a lead role.
Curtis will play Tonowari, leader of the Metkayina, the reef people clan (Cameron has said before that the Avatar world in future instalments will take place underwater).
Curtis joins returning cast members Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver. Production begins next year.
