Do we really, really need another Fast & Furious movie? Yes, according to star Paul Walker, who in fairness relies on the franchise to have a movie career. An eight installment is not just a twinkle in his eye; he says it's guaranteed.
Right now he is in the middle of filming the seventh one with Vin Diesel. Jumping the gun is he then? Nope - in an interview with Collider he said with wide eyes and a manic grin (probably) that there could be up to ten of the action flicks.
He tells a funny story, "The thing that's pretty crazy is that neither Vin nor I were going back to do the third one. They were going to do a direct-to-video 4. They were going to dispose it and be done with it."
"But then, Vin was like, 'No, I'll come in for a cameo,' because it wasn't testing well. He wanted to set up the fourth one and the studio went for it, and we got a second life. It was supposed to be done already."
You heard the man, after the third it was supposed to be done. But it just wasn't to be.
All of the stars are coming back for the seventh F & F which is due for release here in July 2014, including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson (which is the only reason why this writer will be watching) Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez and Hollywood heavyweights Kurt Russell and Jason Statham are among the new faces joining the franchise.
