DC/Warner Bros have a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline such as 'Wonder Woman: 1984' and the recently announced 'Aquaman 2'. But arguably the most exciting of them all is 'Birds of Prey'.
The movie's full title is 'Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)'. It sees Margot Robbie reprise the role of Harley Quinn, which she initially played in the 2016 movie 'Suicide Squad'. However, she's not alone this time around.
What's it about?
The official synopsis for 'Birds of Prey' reads:
"Since the events of 'Suicide Squad', Batman has disappeared, leaving Gotham City unprotected from crime, and Harley Quinn has left the Joker. When Cassandra Cain, a young girl, comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord Black Mask, Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montoya to help protect her."
Screenwriter Christina Hodson, who also wrote 'Transformers' spin-off 'Bumblebee' said she sought to reinvent Harley and expand the character following her departure from the Joker.
Who's in it?
'Birds of Prey' has a phenomenal cast lined up for its female superhero team.
In the role of Huntress is Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Winstead previously starred in '10 Cloverfield Lane', 'Scott Pilgrim vs the World', 'Fargo' and 'Live Free or Die Hard'.
Jurnee Smollett-Bell ('Friday Night Lights', 'Underground', 'The Great Debaters') plays Black Canary.
Rosie Perez ('White Men Can't jump', 'Do the Right Thing', 'Fearless') plays Gotham City Police Department detective Renee Montoya.
Then another crucial part of the casting is Ewan McGregor as bad guy Black Mask. Newcomer Ella Jay Basco plays Cassandra Cain.
Rounding out the cast are Chris Messina, Talon Reid, Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, François Chau, Matthew Willig, and Ali Wong.
Is there a trailer yet?
Sadly no - and it's no surprise given the movie doesn't come out until 2020.
However, Margot Robbie did unveil a teaser video featuring snippets of a bunch of the characters last January when principal photography on the movie commenced.
It's shooting in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Savannah, Georgia, and is expected to be completed by mid-April 2019.

Anything else of note?
Cathy Yan is signed on to direct. She is thus the first Asian woman to helm a superhero movie.
Sue Kroll produces along with Robbie through her LuckyChap Entertainment and Bryan Unkeless' Clubhouse Pictures.
'Birds of Prey' is expected to be the first theatrically released R-rated film in the DCEU.
It is reportedly the first in a trilogy of films focusing on Harley Quinn. The second movie is based on the Gotham City Sirens team, allegedly.
When can I see it?
'Birds of Prey' hits cinemas on February 7, 2020.
