It's all about the remakes today, folks.

As well as Strangers On A Train getting a remake, it looks like John Carpenter's Escape From New York is also on the horizon.

The cult sci-fi thriller has long been in gestation, with any number of directors and actors attached to star.

Names such as Charlie Hunnam and Gerard Butler have been suggested as possible replacements for Kurt Russell's Snake Plissken, whilst Robert Rodriguez was mooted to helm it.

As it stands now, no details have been announced - except that Fox is looking after the remake.

John Carpenter is no stranger to his films being remade and, so far, he's pretty ambivalent about them.

In an interview regarding the Assault on Precinct 13 remake, Carpenter said that his level of involvement was "to take a cheque from a studio and continue watching basketball."

This time around, Carpenter will have more skin in the game, serving as Executive Producer and will exert creative influence over the film.

So, to the nitty-gritty, Escape From New York remake. Good or bad? Vote in the poll!
