In totally bizarre-but-not-really-that-bizarre casting news, Amy Adams is going back for a sequel to Disney's Enchanted. Yes, really.
THR reports that a sequel is officially in the works at the House Of Mouse and that Amy Adams is reportedly expected to return as Princess Giselle, a sort-of catch-all Disney princess who winds up in the actual real world. The film did well for Disney, earning just over $340 million worldwide against a budget of $85 million.
This time around, Adam Shankman is being tapped for the director's chair. His previous credits include the remake of Hairspray, The Wedding Planner and Rock Of Ages, as well as a number of episodes of Glee, so he's got more than enough experience dealing with big musical numbers and the like.
THR also reports that Disenchanted will be set "set 10 years after the first movie, with Giselle finding herself questioning her happily-ever-after life and accidentally triggering events that make everyone's lives turn upside down in both the real world and in the animated kingdom of Andalasia."
No release date has been set, however filming is expected to begin in 2017 with an eye to a release date for 2018.
