Eminem looks to be returning to the big screen for the first time in 8 years with the film, Random Acts of Violence.
Although it sounds like it takes place during a ride on the Red Line Luas, It's actually described as a crime thriller on similar ground to The Departed and The Town. The fact The Town is already being ripped-off is a good sign for the longevity of the Ben Affleck action thriller. Anyhow, apparently the proposed Eminem vehicle started out as a take on computer game Grand Theft Auto, but when game makers Rockstar baulked at their hugely popular franchise being mimicked, all be it unofficially, the flick took a turn for the clichéd "ex con tries to go straight" angle.
Californication's David Von Ancken has penned a draft of the script and in line to direct. Eminem was also in line to star in boxing film, Southpaw, but there's no word which one will go first - or at all.
