Edward Furlong will reprise his most renowned role in 'Terminator: Dark Fate'.
Furlong is best-known for playing John Connor in 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day.'
He's not the only one who will be back as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton reprise their roles from 'T2' too.
Schwarzenegger has technically appeared in every 'Terminator' film. However different actors and actresses have stepped in to play John and his mother Sarah Connor over the years.
Director Tim Miller ('Deadpool') announced Furlong's return during a panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
The upcoming 'Terminator: Dark Fate' takes place 27 years after 'Terminator 2'. It ignores all other sequels in the 'Terminator' franchise.
Miller teased that the film will show Sarah dealing with the consequences of her actions in 'Judgment Day'. In the 1991 film, she destroyed Cyberdyne Systems and presumably every trace of Skynet and its army of Terminators.
The director also confirmed that the upcoming film will have an R-rating, saying “It would be disingenuous to do so otherwise, it’s what the fans wanted.”
Schwarzenegger, Hamilton, and Miller attended the panel. Co-stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Diego Boneta, and Gabriel Luna were also there.
