The intense, but always watchable actor Ed Harris will play former American presidential candidate John McCain in the HBO film, Game Change, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Harris will join an already cast Julianne Moore (as Sarah Palin) in the flick, which is being directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers, Meet the Parents) and centres on the presidential race of 2008 - that Barack Obama eventually won in a landslide victory. The film will be based on the book of the same name by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, while Danny Strong (other political flick Recount) penned the script.
A theatrical release is unlikely, but the film should be available in DVD some time after the initial HBO broadcast.
