If you happened to be walking through Dawson Street last night and thought it looked a little strange, you weren't alone.
As it turns out, various parts of the city have been changed to give a more New York flair thanks to Neil Jordan's latest film, The Widow. The film, which stars Chloe Moretz, Isabelle Huppert and Maika Monroe, is currently filming across the city and has already converted Smithfield, the Mansion House and Dawson Street into downtown New York.
The film follows a young woman (Moretz) who arrives in Manhattan and strikes up an unusual relationship with a widow, played by Huppert. Maika Monroe plays Moretz's wealthy friend who helps her acclimate to the city, whilst frequent Jordan collaborator Stephen Rea plays a private detective. Not only that, the Oscar-nominated cinematographer Seamus McGarvey - who most recently worked on Nocturnal Animals, The Accountant and Black Mirror - is on the set as DOP.
Here's what Dawson Street looked like last night.
Traffic really heavy on Dawson St, also made up entirely of American cars. Wondered onto a film set on the way home from work 🗽🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/IpbI7zsjEu
