Nicolas Winding Refn has just directed one of the best crime films of the last decade or so with his Ryan Gosling starring flick, Drive. It is phenomenally good, and the helmer has since been tasked with directing Logan's Run with Gosling as the lead. Now he's talking up another project...
Now, Refn has revealed that he's been told a big screen version of Wonder Woman is his - if he does a good job with Logan's Run. The helmer spoke at Empire Magazine's Big Screen 2011 event and said that he'd still cast Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks - who has a small role in Drive - as the titular hero. The Playlist are reporting to have said, "I’m getting closer with Logan’s Run. I think someone said to me in a meeting that if I get Logan’s Run right, then I’ll get Wonder Woman." Given the buzz on Drive, I'd say Logan's Run will go into production fairly sharpish.
Drive feels like a retro Michael Mann film with Martin Scorsese dashes of violence. I can't wait to see what he does with 'Run' - especially with Gosling again attached.
