The fifth 'Indiana Jones' film has been a source of much discussion, delay and dismay over the last few years, with a number of factors contributing to the famous adventure franchise's various setbacks.
The most recent update came around this time last year, when it was announced that the planned 2020 release date would not be realised because a screenwriter, Jon Kasdan, had only been found.
Since then, there has been speculation on whether the film would be made at all. However, now Disney appear to have not only confirm that it's going ahead, but they've pencilled in a release date.
The studio released their schedule for upcoming films until 2027 yesterday. Indy 5 will be released in cinemas on July 21st, 2021.
Not only that, but on the same schedule they confirmed the release dates of the next three as-yet-untitled 'Star Wars' films - December 16, 2022, December 20, 2024 and December 18, 2026.
In addition, James Cameron's 'Avatar 2' has now been pushed back from December 2020 to December 17th, 2021 and 'Avatar 3' will now be released in cinemas on December 22nd, 2023. 'Avatar 4' and 'Avatar 5' will follow on December 19th, 2025 and December 17th, 2027 respectively.
Whew. Now that you have your next eight years of cinema outings planned, you can rest easy.
