The Fountain and Requiem For A Dream director Darren Aronofsky is reportedly close to signing on to helm another Robocop film. The talented director had come extremely close to directing a Batman flick before Chris Nolan knocked it out of the park, and is known for his thoughtful handling of dark material. Bloody Disgusting is reporting that it won’t be a remake, but rather a sequel of sorts set 20 years after the Robocop programme has been shut down. While AintItCool.com are saying that the setting will be moved from Detroit to LA, which is slightly disappointing given how well the bleak mid-western look fit with Paul Verhoven's 80’s classic. Still, this could be pretty damn excellent.
