The Darklight Festival 2009 is now in full swing, with some really interesting things going on, mostly out of the stunning Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield. My personal highlight would be that of Mark Romanek making an appearance, and conducting a public workshop on Saturday. Romanek is arguably the best music video director of all time, having shot promos for everyone from Johnny Cash, to Jay-Z and Michael Jackson. He also directed the underrated thriller One Hour Photo, and is currently in post production on Keira Knightley starrer, Never Let me Go. -A public interview and workshop with legendary music video director Mark Romanek. Mark directed the classic video for Hurt by Johnny Cash, and has worked with everyone from Michael Jackson and Madonna to Nine Inch Nails and Jay-Z.

-Our Saturday Night Centrepiece, Niall Sweeney’s Revolver – a stunning one-man performance from the celebrated Irish design legend.

-Cool Fresh Milk, a new live work from innovative theatrical rule-breakers Performance Corporation.
