AintitCool.com head-honcho Harry Knowles has suggested Ireland as a place to shoot the Ryan Reynolds starring Green Lantern movie, that is being helmed by kiwi, Martin Campbell. The online geek messiah states that there is apparently some trouble with financing the production in Australia, and that it would make more sense to shoot here. He spews: "Ultimately, they'd probably get better value for their money by shooting in Ireland - where the benefits being offered to studios are greater than in Australia - and ultimately... shooting GREEN LANTERN on the Emerald Isle is just way cooler..." Now Knowles hardly runs the studio that is funding the blockbuster production, but he does have a certain amount of sway when it comes to Hollywood productions, especially those of the comic book variety. So, whoever is in charge of finding productions to film here, get on to Warner Bros. This is a $150 - $200 million production and would be a stunning kick in the arse for Irish film, and the Irish economy in general.
