Zero Dark Thirty star Chris Pratt has been confirmed for the lead role in Marvel's upcoming sci-fi epic, Guardians of the Galaxy. The American will star as, err, Star-Lord, the leader of the group of cosmic superheroes who set out to defend the world from evil.
The role is a rather coveted one and Deadline reports that the likes of Jim Sturgess (One Day) and Zachary Levi (Tangled) had been in the running. It's a pretty big deal for Pratt, as he's never actually played the main character in a film before. We guess Star-Lord, the son of a human mother and an alien father, is as good a role as any to get him started!
The full cast for the comic book adaptation has yet to be confirmed but you can expect to see Guardians of the Galaxy in cinemas by August/September 2014,
