In case you thought the remake of 'Child's Play' was going to be a serious, gritty retelling of the horror classic, there appears to be killer drones, some kind of squad of kids fighting Chucky, and self-driving cars crashing into one another.
'Child's Play' was, of course, a smash-hit in the '80s and spawned a number of sequels - all of which featured Chucky in the lead role. This time around, however, the emphasis appears to be less on Chucky causing havoc and more about technology doing the dirty work.
You can almost see where it's all going - that there is likely some kind of malfunctioning chip controlling Chucky, or some kind of artificial intelligence / virus that's doing behind it all. Who cares when it's this silly though, right?
'Child's Play' hits Irish cinemas this summer.
