Here's an interesting choice by Quentin Tarantino, to say the least.
The director is gearing up for his next film, The Hateful Eight, by doing a spot of last-minute casting. The film, which was almost shelved after a draft of the script went online, is due to start production next month in rural Colorado.
According to sources on the inside, Tatum is circling a "major role" in the film. The 21 Jump Street star's next film, Foxcatcher, is being hailed as a masterpiece and Tatum is already being talked about as a serious contender for an Oscar.
This'll be the first time Tarantino has worked with Tatum, and by all accounts, it looked as those the director had his cast for this.
The impressive cast features Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern and Tim Roth.
Tarantino is currently shopping the film to potential investors and is forcing them to read it under tight security at a secure location, somewhere in Hollywood.
We're very excited about Hateful Eight. It takes place in an abandoned house during the final days of the American Civil War, where a sherrif, two bounty hunters and a prisoner take refuge from a snowstorm. From there, it gets super violent and very, very funny.
We can't wait.
