Having played the likes of Katharine Hepburn and Phyllis Schlafly over the years, Cate Blanchett is taking on another real-life figure.
Cate Blanchett will play Donald Trump's sister Maryann Trump Barry in an upcoming feature film. However the film is not about the Trump family.
The project is titled 'Armageddon Times' and it's the latest from James Gray, who directed 'We Own the Night' and 'Ad Astra'.
Gray also penned the script. It is inspired by his life growing up and attending the Kew-Forest School in Queens, New York.
Donald Trump is an alumni of the school. His sister visited the school in real life and gave a speech to the students. And that's where Cate Blanchett comes in.
James Gray said: "Cate Blanchett is going to play Donald Trump’s sister which is the weirdest sentence I have ever said.
"She’s only in it for three days, she’s doing me a favor. She has a really long speech to deliver, it’s a real scene-stealer. I’ve tried to recreate the real speech as best I could from memory."
She'll be joining a star-studded cast for 'Armageddon Times'. Robert De Niro, Anne Hathaway, Donald Sutherland, and Oscar Isaac are all also starring.
Production on the movie is expected to start in autumn.
