Amanda Seyfried is to be reunited with Les Misérables co-star Russell Crowe in upcoming drama Fathers and Daughters.

As the title helpfully suggests, Seyfried will play Crowe's daughter at 30 years of age, but before you recoil at the thought that Crowe is old enough to be, like, a great-grandfather, he will portray the dad in the past, as a mentally-ill widower trying to raise his five-year-old little girl. Seyfried will play the daughter in the present-day as she battles the demons of her formative years.

Pursuit of Happyness director Gabriele Muccino will take the reins of the film which will hopefully be a bit better than his last attempt, the dire (to put it nicely) Playing for Keeps. What's hopeful about this project is the script, written by Brad Desch, that was on Hollywood's Black List of the 'most liked' unproduced screenplays.
