The very brilliant Zack Synder (Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen) will next direct the fantasy drama Sucker Punch, with gorgeous Aussie Emily Browning (The Uninvited) in the lead role. Mamma Mia actress Amanda Seyfried had been cast, but had to pull out due to prior filming commitments on her HBO series Big Love. Film is based on an original story by Snyder, and follows Browning as she is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days - which seems a bit harsh. But whilst living in her own alternative reality, to block out the pain, she hatches a plan to escape. A cracking all-female supporting cast of Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens, Emma Stone and Evan Rachel Wood will offer back-up. Sounds suitably mental, and, quite frankly, we'd watch a Synder-directed Daz ad at this point - the man is a fantastic helmer.
