Bradley Cooper is entering negotiations to play Lucifer in an adaptation of sombre sort John Milton's classic 17th-century poem Paradise Lost.

The director of The Crow and (whisper it) Knowing, Alex Proyas is attached to direct the film that Variety describes as "the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, including the latter's role in Adam and Eve's fall from grace. Pic will be crafted as an action vehicle that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D."

Cooper just had a solid hit with Limitless, solidifying his status as a leading man. Expect other big names to become attached in the following weeks. Really like the sound of this one...
