Brad Pitt has been confirmed to be starring in a Marc Foster directed adaptation of the zombie apocalypse book, World War Z, according to Empire by way of MTV.

The books writer, Max Brooks, apparently confirmed the news to MTV, with Pitt's casting rumoured ever since he purchased the rights for his production company, Plan B. The story centres on a pandemic that sees the vast majority of the worlds populace turned into zombies. The structure of the book will apparently not lend itself to cinematic adaptation too easily, so rewrites will have to happen to ensure a star of Pitt's stature has sufficient screentime.

I haven't read the book, but have been meaning to. Everyone I know who has loves it, and thinks it'd make a great movie in the right hands. Let's hope those hands belong to Quantum of Solace helmer, Foster.
