Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender will star opposite British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor in Steve McQueen's third film as director, Twelve Years A Slave.
Screen Daily confirmed Pitt's involvement as an actor yesterday, but it has been known for some time that he'd produce the film. 'Slave' is based on a true story of New Yorker Solomon Northrup (to be played by Ejiofor) who was kidnapped and shipped off into forced labour in the mid ninetieth century. Fassbender and Pitt's roles are thus far unconfirmed, but both are thought to be major parts.
Irish actor Fassbender is receiving rave reviews for his second film with McQueen, Shame, which is seeing him compared to Daniel Day Lewis by some American scribes. McQueen also previously worked with the actor on Hunger.
