No one's gonna want to mess with Belfast this year, unless they want the men behind Bond and Taken on their case.

Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson have signed the dotted line and are set to appear in a Christmas movie filmed in the city, which was announced by Downton Abbey's Julian Fellowes at a event on Friday. The Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People, of which Neeson and Brosnan are both patrons, will make A Christmas Star, which will feature both actors as well as involvement from Oscar-winning producer of The King’s Speech Gareth Ellis Unwin, composer Patrick Doyle and Belfast actress Paula Malcolmson.

As part of the project, hundreds of young people from Northern Ireland will be involved in the production, with TV and film professionals mentoring them and showing them the ropes on every aspect of filmmaking.

Fellowes said 'Young people, from every type of background and culture, are being encouraged to explore the world of film for themselves, first hand. We want them to break through the glass ceilings and walls that surround them and see for themselves what it’s really like.'

Interested people can register from May, with an October shoot currently being lined up.
