One of the most underrated comedic actors on the planet (seriously, his work is Skeleton Twins is superb) Bill Hader has landed a new series at HBO.

Deadline have the exclusive in what sounds like a great show:

"Barry centers on an ex-Marine (Hader) who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene."

Hader co-wrote and directed the pilot alongside Silicon Valley Executive Producer Alec Berg.

There's obviously a quirky hitman vibe ala Grosse Point Blank, but the creative talent involved here have us extremely excited - as well as the fact that this is HBO, so we can expect boundary pushing.

Should see this to premiere in the Autumn.
