With yesterday's news that TJ Hooker would be bouncing his way to the big screen, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the bottom of the barrel had already been firmly scraped. Evidently, this is not so, as it has been announced that the much mooted Baywatch movie will finally happen. Now, the original series was basically famous for vast amounts of boobs, bouncing in the sunlight, and "The Hoff" looking sombre after failing to save the life of some swimming granny with a death wish. It was cheesy as hell, but like I said, bouncing boobs and suicidal granny. Now, the reason there may be hope lies in the fact that one Jeremy Garelick is to write the film, and make his directorial debut. Garelick did a huge, uncredited rewrite, on The Hangover, and also penned The Break Up, giving him mucho comedy credit in my book. He'll rewrite a more "action heavy" draft into something more resembling classic 80's movies Stripes and, eh, Police Academy.
