Well seeing as he'll play the villain in the forthcoming Star Trek flick, he may as well try his hand at taking down 007 too, eh? Slash a scar through his eyeball, given him an inexplicably runny nose (maybe that would convey evilness, no?) and plonk a malnourished, skinned cat on his lap and voila, Benedict Cumberbatch; the most villanous of all Bond Villains. As per The Express, Cumberbatch is considered "perfect Bond villain material". I for one adore this idea. He's certainly got the dulcet tones to do it justice. No Bond villain can ever have a squeaky voice. Sorry, Joe Pasquale.
Anyway, the Parade's End star is rumoured to face Daniel Craig's MI6 agent in the yet-to-be-named 24th James Bond film. "Work on the next film will begin next year and the plan is for Benedict to be on board... He grew up watching Bond, so it would be a childhood ambition fulfilled. Playing a Bond villain is one of the plum roles in film history and he'd jump at the chance," said an unnamed source.
In the meantime, we have Skyfall to look forward to, on October 26th. Watch the trailer here.
