Ben Affleck reportedly felt 'humiliated' after the poor response Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received from the critics.
Despite taking in a worldwide gross of $864 million, the film is currently 27% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes. According to Devin Faraci from well regarded fan site Birth.Movies.Death, Ben Affleck was far from happy with the critical reception the movie received.
"My sources have told me that Affleck was incredibly unhappy about the reception of BvS. He felt humiliated after spending so much of the press tour saying how much better this film would be than Daredevil. On top of that his agent was furious when Kevin Tsujihara jumped the gun and announced him as the director of The Batman - there were still negotiations happening."
In a bid to appease Affleck, Warner Bros. has made him an Executive Producer on the upcoming Justice League movies.
"This move seems to help placate Affleck while also edging Zack Snyder out of a controlling central position in the DC Movieverse."
Given his success behind the camera with the likes of Argo, it's hard to deny that giving Affleck a greater creative input on proceedings is a good idea. Whether or not it will result in him butting heads with Snyder remains to be seen.
