Someone must have said ‘Beetlejuice’ three times because it has been announced – and just in time for Halloween – that Tim Burton’s cult classic is getting a limited theatrical re-release, with newly remastered DCP prints, beginning in selected Irish cinemas from October 26th.
The 80s classic won an Academy Award for Best Makeup, was ranked on AFI’s Top 100 list of Funniest American Movies, and is now being adapted as a new Broadway musical, opening this spring.
The original stars Michael Keaton in one of his most popular roles as the titular ghost. The freelance ‘bio-exorcist’ is summoned by a recently-deceased married couple, played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis, to scare away the family that’s taken over their home. However, Beetlejuice gives the pair a lot more than they bargained for…
Winona Ryder co-starred in the film in her breakthrough role while Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O’Hara also feature in the cast.
Cinemas that will be screening ‘Beetlejuice’ include:
· Brunswick Moviebowl, Derry
· Odyssey Cinemas, Belfast

· The Stella Theatre, Rathmines
· Vue Cinemas Liffey Valley, Dublin
· Eye Cinema, Galway
· The Light House Cinema, Dublin
