Bad Neighbours, or ‘Neighbors’ as it’s called in America, outperformed its lofty expectations and took over $50 million in it’s opening 3 days at the North American box-office, putting it in the top 5 all time 'R rated' comedy openings.
The $18 million film knocked The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from the top of the charts, and is also the number one film in both The UK and Ireland.
Pre-buzz had been very strong for the Seth Rogen/Zac Efron starrer, after it tested through the roof for Universal Pictures; but they projected an opening weekend in and around the $25 million mark, so naturally they’re delighted with the box office returns so far.
The well reviewed comedy is in Irish cinemas now. And sure didn’t we have an aul’ chat with Zac Efron about it too.
