Avengers: Infinity War is shaping up to be the largest film Marvel has ever mounted.
As we reported a few months ago, the budget for Infinity War is set at $400 million - with half of that going to Robert Downey Jr.'s salary, if rumours are to be believed. It's now been confirmed, however, that a large portion of the film will be filmed just across the pond in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Highlands of Scotland.
All told, Infinity War's filming is expected to boost the local economy in Scotland by at least £10 million with filming expected to last over six months. There's nothing confirmed as to what role Scotland will play in the franchise, whether the film is actually set there or doubling for some other location, but it is known that filming will commence next month in February.
World War Z was previously the largest film production to set up in Scotland, with the filming there generating £3 million for the local economy.
Avengers: Infinity War is set for a April 27th, 2018 release.
