Arnold Schwarzenegger has finally closed a deal to star in his first post-politics gig, ending weeks of speculation.
Arnie will work with the director of recent Matthew McConaughy starrer The Lincoln Lawyer, Brad Furman on the film, Cry Macho. It was thought his first project would be either Terminator 5 or The Last Stand - both heavy duty action flicks - but he's closed a deal to star in this more dramatic sounding effort. In it Arnie will play a down on his luck horse trainer who kidnaps a 9 year old boy for the money. He'll apparently earn $12.5 million up front for the film and a large portion of the first dollar grosses.
It's not an obvious choice for the former Californian Governor, but for dramas of this ilk to work they really need to get strong reviews and basically be good. Who knows, Arnie could surprise is all and win an Oscar... you at the back, stop laughing.
